COVID-19, Real Estate, and You

Uncertain times do not mean uncertainty!

Amid the growing concerns that we are faced with about the spread of COVID-19, it is a natural response to place life on hold, to push the pause button, or to ultimately just stop planning.  The truth is, regardless of any shift in the real estate market, some buyers will need to buy and some sellers will need to sell, no matter what!

The Openshaw and Herfel Real Estate Groups understands the need for substantial efforts to provide peace of mind to both our buyers and sellers.  Due to this fact, we have put into place the following steps for all our listings and showing appointments:

Our Extra Precautionary Measures:

  • Disinfecting wipes for all doors/handles
  • Hand sanitizer for in-person showings
  • Booties for shoes
  • Efforts to limit contact with hard surfaces
  • In person showings by prequalified buyers
  • Virtual showing and open house options
  • Video or phone client meeting alternatives
  • Advanced online marketing methods

We are excited to offer these new virtual avenues for both our sellers and buyers to complete a full real estate transaction from beginning to end, all from the comfort of your own living room!

The Current Market Update

  • We can’t predict the future, but what we know today is that it’s still a strong seller’s market.
  • Interest rates are low, which means buyer’s can afford more house now than ever.
  • There are more people browsing for homes online today than ever before.
  • Home inventory is still low, so you have less competition in the real estate market.

Now may be the time for you to make some changes to your current mortgage. To learn about the best options for you, be sure to reach out to your mortgage company or one of our preferred lenders.

Interest rates are changing day to day and could be lower than your current rate.  Refinancing may be an option for you to take advantage of and reduce your monthly payment.

At this time, some mortgage providers are offering deferment of payments.  Learn more about what a deferment is and how it works.
